Kristin already has the perfect marriage. For almost 15 years, her friends have considered her relationship the "blueprint" for lasting love. But the surface is usually a lot more polished than what it covers. When her marriage is put to the test, will it pass?

A collection of mini stories, this short novel follows three best friends-Tara, Val and Kristin-as they each go through their own personal struggles to give love a second chance. What I enjoyed about this novel is that I could relate to the characters. We've all been through heartbreaks and had that one bad previous relationship that we were sure had ruined any chances of us finding Mr or Mrs Right. As an independent author, Christina definitely holds her own with this debut novel in the world of contemporary romance. She shows both promise and skill.Mark my words, if you're a fan of contemporary romances or African American fiction, you'll want to keep your eye out for her future projects. Her writing style is refreshing and she draws readers in so that by the end of the book they feel like they know these characters.

Love And Other Things edition by Christina C Jones Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
What a great book from start to finish, this was a great book! I loved that the storyline continues with all the characters. I felt like I was apart of them and knew them all. I will definitely looking forward to the sequel!
Enjoy the three different stories. Nice to read three females supporting each other through good times and bad times. Each story has some romance and love in it. How they each get their is very different, but realistic to life. There were some editing issues in the story, but it different take away from the plot or character. I love how these men different run away from love when they knew it was right even though the ladies were afraid of giving in to love again. Ms.Jones stories are enjoyable to read. Looking forward to the next book.
One of my favorite authors suggested this book on FB, and since it was free, I decided to check it out. I'm so happy I did! This was a really good book. I loved all of the characters (well, except Ahmad, of course), and for 3 short stories, the storylines all felt pretty complete, and were very good. The dialogue (especially internal!), situations, texts were all on point.
I can't believe this book was free! But, I'm glad it was, because otherwise, I may not have taken the chance on reading the book. I'm definitely looking forward to reading more from this author.
Great job!
The book started of pretty well. It seemed to move a little faster than most novels I've read and then it just ended. I was extremely confused and figured out that this has about three mini stories in one. Those stories would be pretty interesting if they were complete, but I'm extremely disappointed.
This was my first introduction to Christina Jones and I was pleased with the stories overall, and I love the cover. That's what drew me in originally. I finished this book in two days, so it was a quick read. I enjoyed the love stories and the characters were relatable though the story lines weren't that original, but these are contemporary issues that African-American women often deal with. There were a few grammatical issues that distracted me, but this was her debut novel, so hopefully, this is an issue that I hope I will see less of as I delve into her other works. Can't wait to read more from this author.
I really enjoyed this book. It's very unique in that as time progresses we actually get three stories within the one book. This was done very well, and really added to the story for me. I love the characters, there is drama without it being ridiculous and over the top, and just the right amount of sex with the romance. I found myself falling in love with each of the 3 women, and rooting for them to get their happy ending. My only complaint has to do with editing, while much better than many of the books I've read recently, the tense is not consistent and is a personal pet peeve for me.
Christina C. Jones wrote three separate yet contiguous love stories. While like any love story the ending is predictable (the couple ends up living happily ever after), Jones created an interesting path for each one. The book is separated into three parts, with each one highlighting a different friend. Tara has just been swindled by her ex-boyfriend and she is highly attracted to the man heading up the investigation, Chris. Val can't seem to get enough of Chris' friend Devon, but can she give him the committed relationship he deserves? Finally, Kristinis fighting for a marriage that may not be worth fighting for and starts to lose faith in love until she meets Devon's cousin. These were three cute love stories. It's a good read for a lazy afternoon at home or on the beach. It's very light hearted and leaves you with the warm and fuzzies.
